Sigh…

Todays had it’s ups and downs.

One. I arrived on time for my orthodontist appointment for the first time and I had to wait an hour and a half until I got into the room for them to do my check up. That was not cool.

Two. The TeenSpeak International informal gathering at KCC was quite good. We talked lots about how to teach leadership. What are the different aspects of leadership, etc.

Three. During my time to waste during the day, I crashed at ThisMusicStudio and just relaxed. I love that place.

Four. Met up with Jehan tonight after a very long time. It was nice to catch up and tell him about whats going on with me at the moment. Makes me happy every time I see him.

Five. Did I mention I’m disappointed? And only one person would know the reason.

Six. Dang it!

Cheers.

Drained week

First week of summer have been quite draining, busy and tiring- but good! I’ll just briefly explain what I’ve been doing. I’ve been hanging out with my cousins a lot.

Saturday- Went to the LaTours house in Lamma Island for a NEW Seniors BBQ, spent time there watching movies, hanging out, playing Wii, stayed the night there with Cherie.
Sunday– Awoken and attacked by mosquitos. Church. Went to the peak- Bubba Gump for lunch and spent the afternoon there and enjoyed the nice day.
Tuesday- Extended family lunch and dinner. Went out for a drink and Priscilla slept over.
Wednesday- Priscilla and I grocery shopped, cooked dinner at her place and I stayed for the night. We watched Wedding Crashers.
Thursday- Watched 28 days later at her place, went home. Went to Jessy’s house and attempted to watch Glory Road.
Friday- 2AM in the morning Jon arrived. Talked and spent time together all night, brought him to the airport in the morning. Had lunch with Jessy, went home and laid out by the pool for a bit. Went to Cheung Chau with Priscilla, Jason, Curtis and Kenneth. Dinner, Fishing, Cyclyinh, Cockroaches, Mid-night snack, partied it up. We slept on a TWIN bed.
Saturday- Woke up and went down to the beach. Had some local Cheung Chau food for lunch. Came back to Hong Kong and had dinner with the rents and some family friends.
Sunday-
Breakfast with Hynah. He got his finger stuck in a hole in the newspaper. Church. Dimsum with Priscilla and Kenneth’s family. Tennis with Mi-Rha & the Woods for two hours. Dinner party Philippines Reunion at home.

It’s been a busy week. There were definitely things that I wish I could’ve had time to do though. Too bad. My parents and I are leaving for summer this Thursday, so time is running out and it’s coming fast. The next few days will be busy as well, getting ready to leave for a month and more catching up and good byes with friends. I have a strong feeling summer is going to fly by like no other! Kind of sad thinking about it, but will enjoy it while it lasts.

Congrats to Daniel and Anna Mayhugh for little Nya Elizabeth Mayhugh born June 24th.

If you want to get together, give me a call and I’ll try to maybe meet for coffee or something. Hopefully I will put a few pictures up the next few days. Hope things are going well whether you’re in town or out around the world.

Laters,
Joanne

Long Distance…

I had an interesting, good talk today about Long Distance Relationships. I guess it wasn’t so much talk but I was the listener and when I had the chance to speak I didn’t know what to say. My mind kind of blanked out. Sorry.

I try not to think about it but I guess it’s hard when you’re sort of in one. It’s definitely difficult, and yet I think it’s not that bad after all. Of course I wish that it didn’t have to be like this. But since it is, I guess I try to think of the positive things from it.

Hard to explain and I don’t hope to put much explanation to what I’m thinking personally here but stirs a lot of questions and thoughts after it sinks into my head. Cool… Yeah, What do you guys think about Long Distance Relationships?

Cheers.

We will be Seniors…

Writing the last sentence of the American Studies essay, having the bell ring and putting the pen down – I was about to scream for joy. I was so happy. The end of Exams, the end of Junior Year. Bittersweet, yet not. Walking out of the classroom, out of school, I could only tell people that I was done with exams and I was happy!

I got home at about 10:30. I had plans of meeting up with Jon but that was not until 3:30. And I was sure that I could not stay home until then, I had to get out of the house and do something. I ended up going to lunch with Priscilla and her family out in Tsuen Wan.. Yes that is far! It was very nice though, great to see Curtis and talk to him.

I headed back over to Causeway Bay to meet with Jon. We hung out and I went up to his new apartment, very convenient area. I will definitely be up around there a lot if I can. We even had dinner with my rents in Taikoo later into the night. It was fun. Check out his page for more on the dinner. We hung out quite a bit today and it was great. It’s been a while since we both had the time to hang out and talk. Hopefully in the next two weeks before I leave for the summer we will be able to spend more time together.

Summer is here. I am in summer mode. Junior years been good, lots of things occured, good and bad. But it’s the experience that makes it overall enjoyable. I am looking forward to Senior year. Can you believe it? We will be seniors. It will be busy with college apps and such but…

Let’s enjoy it Class of 2008!

I’m looking forward to relaxing, hanging out and catching up with friends in the next few weeks. I hope you are too. Bittersweet memories, savor the last few moments.

Pure joy

Last night was the last Encounter of the school year. It was sad knowing the seniors won’t be there again when it starts, knowing that Scott Soule won’t be there. They’ve been such a big part of Encounter… Thanks for being there for all of us, I’ll  miss you all.

We basically had a party! Played Wii and Xbox 360 all night and went on a Tram Party around town for about an hour. Going around town yelling, screaming, being an idiot, it was good fun. Man.. all those deprived Little Kids!

For those who don’t know, my ibook broke down on me a few weeks ago so I brought it to the service provider. I wanted to take a break from studying and get out of the house, so I went to pick up my ibook. I’ve been Macless for a few weeks now and it’s not cool! Quote Nat: It’s like taking a piece of your heart out!

Do I look that white washed? I had quite an experience while picking up my ibook today. I went and I guess the guy didn’t think I spoke Cantonese or something so he tried to explain to me in English what was wrong with my computer. But I’m sorry, his english was horrible. I couldn’t understand a word he was saying. So after he tried explaining to me in English, I spoke up.. in Cantonese and asked him a question. He looked shock, stared at me for about 3 minutes then answered my question in Cantonese.

It was pure joy. Added on to my joy of getting my ibook back.

Met up with Karen for dinner, and it was very nice. I’ve been too busy to hang out with her lately and it was nice to catch up tonight. Ate some good Japanese food and chatted about everything. Got us both thinking about things we have to pray about and things we want to do in the next year or so.

What role do I want to take on next year as a leader? What am I willing to do to fulfill that goal? How can I fulfill that goal? Will I have enough wisdom to do it? Many good questions and thoughts irised.

What are the answers? Prayers.

Good night, Joanne.
