This week

I’ve been wanting to write for the last few days, but wasn’t sure where to start. I’ve only been back at work for a few days, but it seems like I’ve been back for quite a while already- though it is strange being back. Seems as though I was gone for holiday for a long time.

This week has been eventful, I won’t elaborate too much on what has been happening but it has been emotionally draining. Though tomorrow is Friday, it has been a long week. I have to say there were only a few moments this week where I felt at peace, where I felt like I didn’t have to think about anything.

Okay… I definately had more in mind to write on this post but American Idol is on at the moment and the auditions are quite entertaining. So perhaps I will write more in the next few days. This post is quite terribly written due to the distraction. I hope you are having a good week.

Cheers,

it just makes me happy

It’s incredible how satisfied and happy I feel playing rugby. I got a call during lunch asking me to bring my rugby kit down to the old stadium cause they’ve got a game for me. It was out of the blue, was not expecting it at all.. but I was stoked. Being able to change into my rugby gear, wearing cleats, running out onto the field knowing that I will tackle people with 110% energy and whenever I get the ball all I know to do is run, run and run… not caring who comes to tackle me down.

That feeling is quite free-ing. In fact, how we go through Life is similar. Run, Run and Run. If someone comes along and tries to knock you down, push them away and if you do get knocked down… get up and keep running! Why let them control you and keep you on the ground?

Even though the second game I played was extremely messy and unbearable, it was still unbelievably satisfying to be able to be on the field playing one of my favorite sports. On another note, besides Rugby, had a great day today catching up with friends here in Cambodia. It’s a good first day back from holidays, and I’m sure there are tons of work waiting for me in the classroom tomorrow.

always nice to have a few more days

I’ve been on holiday for two weeks now and was scheduled to leave tomorrow morning. I was a little stressed about the amount of things I had to get done today but God is gracious. I found out late this morning that my lovely Dad was able to confirm with the agency my flight on Saturday so I have a few more days to spare. Yay!

I wasn’t sure what to do with myself when I found out, What am I going to do these next few days? I had nothing planned… but that was this morning. Now my schedule is starting to fill up again. Hopefully not as crazy as last week. But with that being said, it was good, very good.

I did not get much sleep in last night, but it was all worth it. Being able to go out, spend time with people, and even get to know some friends even better. The more I think about it, the more I wasn’t ready to leave tomorrow morning, Praise God! He is thoughtful.

There are plenty more pictures, but for some reason… wordpress is not being cooperative at the moment so I will add more later. But if you have me on facebook, just check it out there. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and a good New Years.

What’s your new year resolution?

A Christmas day to remember

And there goes another year, I am trying to think back to what I was doing a year ago. College applications I believe.. other than that, I can’t remember. This year is starting to be quite a memorable Christmas though.

I didn’t recieve any big gifts or anything but I have been able to go out with friends, have a drink or two and enjoy each others company. I attended the Christmas Eve Service at ECC and it was awesome! Nothing dragged, the message was great and refreshing and as usual, the worship was better than amazing. It’s very comforting to be able to go back to the home church to celebrate this beautiful holiday, with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

On Christmas day, I spent the morning and lunch with my family then went to a party at someone’s flat! It was a party for the staff at this particular restaurant I drop by once in a while. I was excited that they invited me to their party, who would’ve thought? I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out because they were all “local” chinese and I’m not sure to being around, listening to speaking so much cantonese. But it ended up being a blast! We played games taken from a famous Chinese TV game show that plays on TV every Sunday night. The games are ridiculous but absolutely hilarious. We exchanged gifts, joked around, chatted and had a good time. A few of us ended the evening at Sahara having a drink and having some shisha. A memorable Christmas day, indeed.

Christmas, New Years, Parties, then I’m back to work in Phnom Penh again.
Time really flies when you’re enjoying yourself.

I’m having family time (along with another family friend’s family) tomorrow all day, cable cars, good views, karoke, it should be good fun. Till then, have a good one.

The end of a very long week

It’s Friday. Really?

This week felt like it would never end. Like, never. Every day starting Tuesday, felt like a Friday. Although I slept early, and I mean early… before 10pm- I was still exhausted both physcally and mentally by the end of the day. Normally, I would stick around school and talk with some of my colleagues before heading home but I went straight home afterschool every day.

Today was Polar Express party day for my first graders. They all came to school in their pajamas and their teddy bears. It was adorable! I didn’t feel too well today, therefore I didn’t have enough energy to take any pictures. This afternoon, the kindergardeners came into our classroom to watch The Polar Express with us. It was a good time for me to sit and just relax. I felt a bit better afterschool, but even then I came home and crashed for a few hours.

Nonetheless, Thank God this week is over. We are all very burnt out and praying for a renewal of our minds when we come back to Logos in 2009. Looking forward to a few days of rest before heading back to Hong Kong to hang out with family and friends.
