Family is like legos… one piece of lego is nothing, it’s not valuable. You need all the pieces of legos together to become something big
For one of my assignments in my family communication class, we had to interview two people we consider to be in our family. Thus, I decided to interview my brother and my parents. My parents can be considered one person anyways, sort of.
They were asked to describe their family in a metaphor. If you get the chance to, ask your family and friends the same question, the amount of creative answers you will receive will blow your mind. After pondering a few minutes, my brother said the above. Family is like legos. That was definitely not what I had in mind but it’s brilliant.
When we’re little kids playing with legos or building blocks, we had to try and figure out the pieces, put them together to make something big and not as easily breakable. That’s my family. We built our strength around each other so that when we are faced with conflicts, we have the defense system to know that we are built for whatever is trying to tear us apart. We’re a family, we stick together and only thus can we begin to rule the world.
